Premier Scott Moe announced a $50 million program that will provide financial support to small and medium-sized businesses that have had to temporarily close or significantly curtail operations as a result of COVID-19. The new Saskatchewan Small Business Emergency Payment (SSBEP) will provide a one-time grant up to 15 percent of monthly sales up to a maximum of $5,000.
Saskatchewan Minister of Advanced Education, Tina Beaudry-Mellor announced a $1.5 million investment in emergency financial aid to help at-risk post-secondary students impacted by COVID-19. Emergency bursaries for students will be available from April 1, 2020 to September 30, 2020. Eligibility requirements and application details will be available to students through their post-secondary educational institution within the next week to ten days.
